Rouge My Knees

I’m really into mixing florals and prints in a way that is so over-the-top it works.  Also, a big fan of matching bedding to wall paper.

It must be done with a very skillful hand, otherwise the charm is lost.

With my upcoming project for school, I’m looking to these images for some great guidance and inspiration.  It’s trickling into other areas, like my wardrobe.

I just bought a vintage flowery men’s Brook’s Brothers tie off Etsy, to wear with an obnoxiously floral fitted button up.

It’s scary, I remember a pants jumper I had when I was about 8 or 9, in this exact print.  It had pink bows down the front.  Man…some things just re-emerge don’t they?

Braids and easy dresses

A nice interlude from Winter to Spring…

I’m coming up with a way to feel spring easy even though the temp hasn’t gone a bit beyond 40 degrees.

My equation involves pretty easy flowy dresses

(inspiration, Linda McCartney’s dress above),

warm tights and lots of braids.

And to add to my collection of pretty, easy dresses, I just ordered a handmade beauty from Vain and Vapid.  I’m a die-hard fan of Julie’s designs and handmade art.  I found her by way of her adorable blog, Vain and Vapid.  My latest acquisition is the Cecilia Lisbon Dress.  I plan to order from her any chance I get.  Nothing like supporting small business and having pretty handmade clothes to call your own, especially in a world of mass-production.

I can’t wait to pair it with a wool cowl neck cardigan, wool tights, my boyfriend fatigue jacket and my mocs.

Or I can throw it over a black turtle neck, a la Linda, and pair it with my schoolboy blazer and knee high Frye’s.  Hooray for interlude dressing!

Oh Lord, won’t you buy me a Mercedes Benz ?
My friends all drive Porsches, I must make amends.

Oh Lord, won’t you buy me a vintage pink typewriter?

My friends all have laptops, I must have something to make my desk POP.

Fortunately, I do have a very cool dad who kept his vintage typewriter from his school days.

But his is lonely and this pink girl would bring company.

How damn cool looking are these?

I never stopped to ponder that before apple came into sight

we had stylish typewriters.

Love the one called Hermes 3000.

This video series on Etsy is wonderful and highlights the creative habitats of some of the most interesting collectors and sellers on Etsy.

This house is a dream and they truly seem like kindred spirits.
