I’m so in love with this house…most specifically the amazing talent that calls it home.  Calling out to me immediately were the dollhouses (I had the same ones I think as a child cluttering up my bedroom) and the bedding made from vintage lingerie.  UH_FU_CKING UH_MAH_ZING.  VIA the SELBY.

This spread in Elle Mexico is not alleviating my pains to have rose pink or lavender hair.  Nope, not at all.  It would be one thing if I was starting out at blonde…however my dark locks are far from moving easily into the pastel spectrum of things.

Maybe I should just throw on a wig and call it a day.

It all started with some Will Cotton paintings, My Little Pony and  Mother Monster of course…

Hear Nick Knight wax poetic on minerals, flora and sculpture.  The historical and scientific influence on Knight and Alexander McQueen is so refreshing.

I’m always moved by the interactive installations from Felix Gonzalez-Torres.

Most recently, and quite fitting for a V-Day post is Portrait of Ross in L.A. :

Felix Gonzalez-Torres produced work of uncompromising beauty and simplicity, transforming the everyday into profound meditations on love and loss. “Untitled” (Portrait of Ross in L.A.) is an allegorical representation of the artist’s partner, Ross Laycock, who died of an AIDS-related illness in 1991. The installation is comprised of 175 pounds of candy, corresponding to Ross’s ideal body weight. Viewers are encouraged to take a piece of candy, and the diminishing amount parallels Ross’s weight loss and suffering prior to his death. Gonzalez-Torres stipulated that the pile should be continuously replenished, thus metaphorically granting perpetual life.

oh that I could have this sculpture designed by Stella McCartney–I am now stuck on the idea of a recessed living room, plush with a lambskin rug, lucite table and this sparkly guy swinging over it.  Imagine the party?

the woman is a goddess.

“Lucky Spot” was on loan at the spot which inspired the piece, where else but Belsay Castle in Northumberland…

now featured in her new Las Vegas shoppe.
