I’m obsessing over the Fox Dress from Deyrolle + OC.  This is how I’d rock it on my fantasy date with Willard. We could take a stroll with Ben through a field…

I’m always moved by the interactive installations from Felix Gonzalez-Torres.

Most recently, and quite fitting for a V-Day post is Portrait of Ross in L.A. :

Felix Gonzalez-Torres produced work of uncompromising beauty and simplicity, transforming the everyday into profound meditations on love and loss. “Untitled” (Portrait of Ross in L.A.) is an allegorical representation of the artist’s partner, Ross Laycock, who died of an AIDS-related illness in 1991. The installation is comprised of 175 pounds of candy, corresponding to Ross’s ideal body weight. Viewers are encouraged to take a piece of candy, and the diminishing amount parallels Ross’s weight loss and suffering prior to his death. Gonzalez-Torres stipulated that the pile should be continuously replenished, thus metaphorically granting perpetual life.

Two of my favorite shows so far are Vena Cava and Band of Outsiders.

I’m loving on two small touches that each brought with them.

Vena Cava – the silver and gold modern plate necklaces caught my fancy.

So modern and so not in my normal repertoire.

I was inspired to add something new, so I found this lovely girl on Etsy for a solid $19.

Band of Outsiders – boots with RED laces.  Rugged red laces.

There are tons of options online, as well as at your local JCrew men’s dept.  All for a solid $4.

Both of these items will spruce up my look.  My black stand-by lace up boots will get a nice lift and my neck will have some fun.

He adopted the pseudonym .THAYAHT. around 1919, a “bifrontal” palindrome (visually symmetrical, it can be read from right to left, left to right, and in a mirror).

BORN  Ernesto Michahelles (1893-1959) he is best known for his revolutionary design of the TuTa and his involvement with the Italian Futurist movement.

I recently was exposed to the illustrations Thayaht collaborated in with couturière Madeleine Vionnet. Whilst digging up as many illustrations as I could find, I came across Thayaht’s sketches for the TUTA.  Amazing to think he is responsible for the first full one piece, very close to a modern day worksuit/overalls or for the ladies, playsuit.
